At Usawa Space, we believe education is the foundation of true equity and lasting transformation. Our programs ensure that every learner, especially girls and marginalized children; has the opportunity to thrive, from early schooling to vocational training and higher learning. Through these initiatives, we not only remove barriers to education but also build pathways for learners to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Girls’ Education and Re-Entry Programs
We champion the right of girls to access, remain, and excel in school. Our work includes scholarships, mentorship, and advocacy to dismantle cultural and socio-economic barriers; such as early marriage, beading, and FGM, that keep girls from learning. For those who have dropped out, we provide accelerated and re-entry programs that give overaged and marginalized girls a second chance to continue their education, rebuild confidence, and pursue their dreams.
TVET Scholarships
We offer vocational scholarships to girls and youth from marginalized communities, enabling them to pursue technical and vocational training (TVET). This pathway equips learners with practical skills, enhances employability, and opens doors to entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.
School Support
We strengthen learning environments by equipping teachers and school boards with capacity-building trainings, mentorship and peer learning forums, as well as provision of essential teaching materials. Alongside this, we provide learning materials , uniforms and mentorship for students and promote literacy through reading clubs and child-friendly school spaces. We also support the schools with food under food for school program to help retain the children in schools, especially during the dry seasons. Working directly with schools, enhances both access and the quality of education, ensuring classrooms are inclusive, engaging, learning environments are conducive and supportive of every learner’s potential.
